Casting Begins For Marvel’s Runaways
It’s really really bothering me that they’re specifically calling for Alex to be played by an African American boy, but Nico is just described as “UNIQUELY BEAUTIFUL.” I’M HAVING PAINFUL FLASHBACKS.

And I’m actually boggled at them describing Karolina as egotistic. Karolina? The insecure, awkward, vegan, closeted queer girl who unquestioningly did everything her parents ever told her to do and then all but fell apart when they turned out to be evil? That Karolina?

I like the distinguishing between the girls and boys.
The girls: Ok, we’ve got the hot sassy one, the cute naive one, the hot motherly one, and the one who’s a nerd.
The boys: FILLED WITH MANPAIN
You know it’s going to be all about the guys, with the girls there for a. comic relief b. protection c. UST
TO BE FAIR, some of that UST will be f/f UST. That is, assuming they don’t make Karolina straight.
…which, now that I think about it, is probably pretty likely, since it was heavily hinted at but not stated explicitly that she’s gay until the second volume! Fffuuuuck.
And now that I’m actually looking at Alex and Chase’s descriptions, what the hell? “In need of a father figure?” And yeah, I love how the guys get actual descriptions about their personalities while the girls are ALL ABOUT THE APPEARANCE with a personality trait thrown in as an afterthought.
